Hi, I’m Ramya, the maker (and mama) behind NayVi Makery.
NayVi isn’t a word you’ll find in any dictionary. It’s a blend of my two kids’ names. They’re our two little trouble makers, and they love crafting with me every chance they get. I’ve been a maker of all kinds of things for years, and Jesmonite, polymer clay, and casting are my newest love. They’re materials I’ve been testing, sanding, breaking, and perfecting, until every piece is one I’d proudly keep in my own home. I started this business so I could be home with my kids, and pour my energy into them and into something of our own. It’s a way to contribute to our family and save for their future, built on a knack for crafting, plenty of hard work, and a whole lot of trial and error.
So in 2026, NayVi Makery was born. It’s a woman-owned small business, run out of our home in Austin, Texas. Every new technique is an adventure we figure out together. I’m learning to run a business and master new materials. The kids are learning that patience is part of making. And we’re all learning that the mistakes are where the magic happens.
In our little home studio you’ll find me pouring Jesmonite home decor like trays, bowls, and accents, all with that smooth, stone-like finish. I also shape playful polymer clay pieces, and I make and pack up our Paint-Your-Own DIY kits, so your family can share the same joy of making that ours does. Every piece is designed, made, sanded, painted, and packed by hand, in small batches, right here at home.
And the puffin? He’s our mascot, named after our kids too. Puffins stay close to the nest to raise their pufflings. That’s exactly how we make everything here: close to home, with the people we love, handcrafted with care.
